The first Senior Trip of 2026, organized by the Parish Council of Póvoa de Varzim, took place on September 8th and took 170 participants on a trip to Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. This was the first of four visits scheduled for the coming weeks.
The trip began with a stop in Valença for breakfast, then continued to the Galician capital. Many participants took the opportunity to visit the Cathedral, the historic streets and various cultural spaces of the city.
The Parish Council highlighted the collaboration of the Volunteer Firefighters of Póvoa de Varzim, who have been accompanying these Senior Trips for several decades, providing support and safety to participants.
The three following trips were already scheduled for September 10th, 15th and 17th, completing the cycle of visits planned for this period.
