Resumption of radiotherapy in Évora conditioned on completion of tests and licensing

Correio da Manhã9 September 2026 at 17:26

The radiotherapy unit at the Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora has been temporarily closed since June 1st. The information was confirmed by the Local Health Unit of Central Alentejo (ULSAC), which is responsible for managing the hospital.

The resumption of radiotherapy treatments is conditioned on the completion of technical tests and the obtaining of the necessary licenses. These conditions must be met before the service can resume normal operation.

Patients who required this service during the closure period will be referred to other radiotherapy units in the region or across the country, thus ensuring continuity of essential treatments.

ULSAC did not provide a projected date for the completion of the procedures necessary for the reopening of the radiotherapy unit in Évora.
