A forest fire is active on Caminho do Pomar da Rocha, in Ribeira Brava. The alert was given to Civil Protection after a column of smoke was identified in the area.

Four fire brigades are on site: Sapadores do Funchal Firefighters, Voluntários de Câmara de Lobos Volunteer Firefighters, Mistos da Ribeira Brava e Ponta do Sol Firefighters and Voluntários da Calheta Volunteer Firefighters, totaling 24 personnel.

The firefighting effort also has aerial support on the ground.

The information was confirmed by DIÁRIO with Civil Protection, which is coordinating the firefighting operations.
