João Ferreira, athlete from the Bairrada Adventure Club, won on Saturday the National Medium Distance MTB Orientation Championship, held in the municipality of Almeida. The competition consisted of a technical course with 21 control points, covering a distance of 22.9 kilometers and 325 meters of positive elevation gain.
The winner completed the course in 52 minutes and 48 seconds, thus managing to outperform the remaining competitors. Fábio Gonçalves, athlete from the Centro Recreativo do Casal do Grilo, finished in second place, but the specific times for this competitor are not mentioned in the article.
