The Municipality of Montemor-o-Velho began paving the road on the right bank of the Mondego river, between the bridges of Formoselha and Pereira, over a stretch of approximately 900 meters. This intervention aims to improve mobility conditions, comfort and road safety for users of this road.
The work is being monitored on the ground by the mayor, José Veríssimo, and councilor Vasco Martins. The road in question has a total length of approximately 2.5 kilometers and constitutes an alternative connection between the localities of Formoselha and Pereira.
According to the municipality, the improvement of this connection will be particularly relevant when the municipality carries out the intervention on the road on the left bank of the Mondego, on the stretch between Formoselha and Pereira bridge. During that future work, the right bank road will serve as an alternative to automobile traffic between the two localities, minimizing disruptions to travel.
The paving works are part of the municipal strategy for the conservation and enhancement of municipal roads and paths and should be completed by September 18, and may cause some temporary traffic restrictions during their execution.
