1.1 million euros per day: Portuguese break investment record through CTT App

SAPO9 September 2026 at 16:01

Portuguese reached a historic investment record through the CTT mobile application during the month of August. More than 23.4 million euros were invested in Savings and Treasury Certificates through this digital platform, representing the highest value ever recorded in a single month through the CTT App.

This value translates to approximately 1.1 million euros invested per day during the month of August. The investment volume demonstrates the growing adoption of digital channels by Portuguese people to manage their savings and investments.

Savings and Treasury Certificates are savings products issued by the Portuguese State, traditionally sold through CTT stations, but which can now be conveniently subscribed through the postal company's mobile application.

This investment record comes in a context of increasing digitization of financial services in Portugal, with consumers increasingly opting to manage their personal finances through mobile applications, avoiding physical trips to stores.
