Choice of vacancies for specialized training of doctors now made online

The new doctors will now choose the vacancies for their specialized training through an online system, instead of the in-person process that was previously used. This new model will be implemented this year.

The online system is comparable to the one used for higher education applications in Portugal, which means that doctors in training will be able to apply and select their preferences for specialty and location digitally.

This change represents a modernization of the distribution process for specialized training vacancies for doctors, making it more accessible and potentially more efficient than the previous model that required physical presence.

Hannover Re takes leadership of Insurance Europe Reinsurance Council

Clemens Jungsthöfel, CEO of German reinsurer Hannover Re, was appointed president of Insurance Europe's Reinsurance Advisory Board (RAB) for the 2026-2027 term, with Philippe Meyenhofer, leader of PartnerRe, as vice-president. The RAB brings together representatives from the seven largest global reinsurers: Gen Re, Hannover Re, Lloyd's, Munich Re, PartnerRe, SCOR and Swiss Re.
