The president of the Funchal City Hall, Jorge Carvalho, received today in audience the ambassador of the United States of America in Portugal, John Joseph Arrigo.

The meeting consisted in a presentation of greetings audience, marked by the usual diplomatic protocols in these situations.

The ambassador is currently on an official visit to the Autonomous Region of Madeira, having included this meeting with the mayor of Funchal in his program on the island.

This visit represents a moment of contact between the regional authorities of Madeira and the North American diplomacy in Portugal.
