Civil Protection: Madeira hosted international researchers within the scope of NERO

The Autonomous Region of Madeira received an international group of researchers between September 2 and 8, within the scope of the NERO program – European Network on Extreme Fire Behaviour (COST Action CA22164). This visit is part of a European network dedicated to advancing knowledge on extreme phenomena associated with rural fires.

The NERO program, associated with COST Action CA22164, aims to promote the approximation between scientific research and civil protection. The visit of international researchers to Madeira is part of this strategy of knowledge exchange and good practices among European specialists.

The event counted with the participation of Madeira's Civil Protection, which hosted the researchers during their stay in the region. This international cooperation aims to strengthen response and prevention capabilities facing large-scale rural fire situations.
