Regia Douro Park wants to make blood donations regular

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes9 September 2026 at 15:55

Regia Douro Park held a blood donation session in early November last year and now intends to create greater regularity in this type of initiative. The goal is to hold at least two annual sessions, in previously defined periods, making donations more consistent and accessible for the community.

According to Lígia Cruz, from Regia Douro Park, the main difficulty lies in finding available dates in the donation calendars. The person in charge explained that the Portuguese are very generous in this matter, which means the calendars are frequently full, making it difficult to schedule new actions.

The adhesion of companies and workers has been positive. The possibility of giving blood at their own workplace facilitates participation and allows people to combine the donation with their professional activity. The person in charge highlighted that, in just one hour, workers can make the donation and still go to work normally.

The first donation organized by Regia Douro Park registered a high rate of first-time donations, which demonstrates the potential of this initiative to attract new donors and reinforce the importance of blood donation in the region.
