Number of arrivals at airports in the Azores drops for the eighth consecutive month

The number of passengers arriving at airports in the Azores decreased for the eighth consecutive month in August, according to data published by the Regional Statistical Service (SREA). The decline recorded was 6.2% compared to the same period the previous year.

In August 2026, 301,040 passengers arrived at airports in the Azores. This number represents 19,820 fewer passengers than in the same period last year, corresponding to a decrease of 6.2%.

The downward trend has remained consistent, with this being the eighth consecutive month of decline in the number of arrivals in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
