William Siri, candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro for PSOL, acknowledged during a quiz promoted by GLOBO, Extra and Valor, in partnership with CBN Radio, that the party was wrong to support the election of Rodrigo Bacellar as president of the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj) in February 2025. At that time, Bacellar was re-elected unanimously with votes from all 70 deputies in the House, including PSOL parliamentarians.
Siri stated that "he has no doubt that the party was wrong" when justifying the support. He argued, however, that the political composition guaranteed PSOL the maintenance of the presidencies of some committees in the House.
The quiz was broadcast live by CBN Radio, on the newspapers' websites and on YouTube. The interview began shortly after the scheduled time, at 10:30 a.m.
The article also mentions data from the Quaest poll, which shows Lula leading the race for governor of Rio in the first round with 36%, against 29% for Flavinho Bolsonaro and 8% for Cury. According to the poll, voters from Cury, Renan Santos, Caiado and Zema would migrate more to Flavinho Bolsonaro in a possible second round.
