A group of 21 banks and financial institutions has joined together to launch a dollar-indexed 'stablecoin'. This initiative represents a joint effort by the traditional financial sector to enter the stable cryptocurrency market.
The participating institutions announced that they will create a company dedicated exclusively to issuing this digital currency. The main objective is to offer a stablecoin solution backed by established and regulated financial entities.
The identity of the company and the name of the stablecoin have not yet been revealed, but the organizers promised to disclose this information soon. This announcement comes in a context of growing institutional interest in digital currencies.
