Santa Cruz wants to know the Ministry's plans for the Madeira Educational Centre

dnoticias.pt9 September 2026 at 15:12

The Mayor of Santa Cruz, Élia Ascensão, requested a meeting with the Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, following statements made during a hearing at the Assembly of the Republic. The request comes in response to concerns about the future of the building of the former Madeira Educational Centre, located in Santo António da Serra. At issue is a property of considerable size that has remained unused for several years and whose future is now once again uncertain. The mayor of Santa Cruz intends to obtain clarification directly from the Ministry of Justice regarding existing plans for that space.
