The European Commission approved urgent aid of 114.7 million euros for Spain, aimed at reinforcing the border of the autonomous city of Ceuta and speeding up the deportation processes of migrants.

The decision was made following the intense migratory pressure recorded in Ceuta after the mass arrival of migrants on July 30 and 31.

The funding is specifically intended for the reinforcement of border control measures and the faster operationalization of return procedures for migrants who do not meet the requirements to remain in European territory.

This measure comes in the context of significant migratory flow at the southern European border, where Ceuta has been frequently confronted with episodes of intense migratory pressure.
