Higher education and science with new rules to reinforce innovation

The Portuguese Government approved the new Legal Framework for Degrees and Diplomas, which establishes new rules for higher education and science in the country. This legislation aims to modernize and update the existing frameworks in these areas.

The main objective of this reform is to bring closer and facilitate the integration of the Portuguese higher education system into the European area. This change comes in the context of a broader trend of harmonization of education systems in the European Union.

The Minister of Education was the figure responsible for explaining the main lines of this new legislation. The reform is oriented towards reinforcing innovation in higher education and scientific research in Portugal.
