Government decides next week on support for transport, firefighters and IPSS

The Portuguese government will decide next week on support for the transport, firefighters and IPSS (Private Social Solidarity Institutions) sectors. The decision will be made in a Council of Ministers.

The prime minister, António Costa, said these measures aim to reduce the impact of rising fuel prices on people's lives. Costa considered this impact to be "in fact very, very significant".

The government acknowledges that Portuguese families are being particularly affected by the continuous rise in fuel prices, and therefore decided to proceed with these support measures during the next week.
