26 years ago, DIÁRIO reported the dissatisfaction of workers from the company Novapista regarding the absence of invitations to the inauguration party of the Madeira Airport runway, scheduled for September 15, 2000. The construction was in its final phase and the number of workers had already decreased significantly. Many of the workers who participated in the construction were awaiting the moment to celebrate a project in which they had worked daily for months. However, hundreds of workers stated they had not received any invitation to participate in the celebrations marking the completion of the runway.
