"Pátios do Bairro" returns to Guimarães with art, performance and showcooking

Mais Guimarães9 September 2026 at 12:53

The "Pátios do Bairro" project returns to Guimarães for its seventh edition, scheduled for September 20, at 3:00 PM, at the Curtir Ciência Courtyard, next to the Centro Ciência Viva, in the Zona de Couros. This is a space with strong heritage identity, classified as World Heritage, which once again hosts this cultural dynamization initiative in the city.

The program for this edition features three participants: José Teibão presents an artistic installation, Angélica Salvi will be responsible for a performance, and Christian Rullán, chef at the Le Babachris restaurant in Guimarães, promotes a showcooking moment that integrates gastronomy into the cultural experience.

The event is organized by the Municipality of Guimarães, with conception and production by Freebeats Produção Cultural. Throughout its editions, the project has sought to establish itself as an initiative that brings different artistic languages to historic and unconventional spaces in the city.

"The Feiras Novas are a meeting point"

José Pedro Ribeiro Pereira, a 22-year-old young man from Fontão, won the contest to create the image for the Feiras Novas, a traditional pilgrimage in the Minho region. His proposal placed the woman of the Feiras Novas as the central figure, surrounded by a family sequence with the grandfather, the son, and the grandson, representing what, for José Pedro, distinguishes the pilgrimage: the people who come together. The young man, who has been drawing since childhood, did not expect the amount of positive reactions his work received, considering that this victory represents a step towards what he has wanted to do since he was little.
