Thousands of Norwegian citizens gathered on Wednesday for the funeral of King Harald V, who died on August 28 at the age of 89. The ceremony was held at Oslo Cathedral and could be followed both in the streets of the capital and through giant screens spread throughout the city.
The funeral brought together most of the European monarchies, as well as heads of state and government from partner countries and allies of Norway. The ceremony was marked by an atmosphere of solemnity and sadness, reflecting the pain of the Norwegian people for the loss of their monarch.
