Four-year prison sentence confirmed for the author of the punch that killed a young man in Burgos

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 14:07

The Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León confirmed a four-year prison sentence for negligent homicide for the author of the punch that killed the young man from Valladolid, Sergio Delgado, in 2024 in Burgos. The sentence was upheld after the court dismissed the appeals filed by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution. Both parties had requested the annulment of the trial, alleging lack of impartiality of the judge responsible for the case. The court rejected these arguments and validated the original judicial process that resulted in the conviction. The incident occurred in 2024, when the young man from Valladolid died due to a blow struck by the convicted person.
