AIMA says it has "more than 20%" of workers compared to 2024

AIMA (Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum) stated it has "more than 20%" of workers compared to 2024, in a response to criticism from the Migration Technicians Union. The agency's board had presented numbers that were contested by the union.

The Migration Technicians Union had publicly criticized the data presented by AIMA's board, questioning the truthfulness or interpretation of the figures regarding the agency's human resources.

The agency responded to the union's criticism by reiterating that it currently has more than 20% of workers compared to the previous year.

This exchange of positions comes in the context of debates about AIMA's operational capacity, which manages migration and asylum processes in Portugal, in a sector frequently pointed out as facing human resources and workload management challenges.
