AIMA says it has a net balance of "more than 20%" in its workforce compared to 2024

AIMA (Agency for Integration, Migrations and Asylum) announced, through a statement issued on the 2nd of this month, that it currently has a net balance of "more than 20%" in its staff headcount when compared to 2024. This data emerges in the context of significant growth in the agency's human resources.

According to the same statement, AIMA recorded a growth of 17% in human resources over a period of two years. The time horizon referenced by the agency extends from July 2024 to July 2026, thus covering this expansion period.

The growth announced by AIMA comes at a time when the agency manages a high volume of processes related to immigration, migrations and asylum, areas that have been under significant media and political pressure in Portugal. The hiring of more staff may be related to the need to accelerate the management of pending processes.
