Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho commented on the State's return to REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais), stating that this was "the news she most enjoyed giving to the Portuguese." The government official rejected criticism that the purchase of 13.7% of the company was hasty.

The Portuguese State reacquired a position in REN, the company that operates the national electricity grid. The percentage acquired by the government corresponds to 13.7% of the company's capital.

Maria da Graça Carvalho made these statements as the responsible minister, defending the executive's decision to invest in the energy networks company. The government's position contrasts with that of those who considered the operation premature.
