The choice of location was considered symbolic, marking a passage loaded with political significance for the Bolsonaro family.
The event occurred one day after the release of a Quaest poll that showed, for the first time, Flavio numerically ahead of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) in a second-round simulation in the state of Minas Gerais. In the poll, the PL candidate appears with 40% of voting intentions, while Lula has 37%.
Despite the numerical lead, the two candidates are technically tied, since the poll's margin of error is three percentage points. The second-round scenario contrasts with the first-round race, in which Flavio lost ground compared to the previous round of the poll.
In the first-round simulation, Flavio appears with 27% of voting intentions, while Lula leads with 31%. Augusto Cury (Avante) has 8% and Romeu Zema (Novo) appears with 6%. The Quaest poll was conducted at a strategic moment in the presidential race, with the event in Juiz de Fora reinforcing the bolsonarista campaign's political narrative.
