The port of Castellón continues unstoppable in August and grows 30% in goods: the most transported goods

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 13:13

The port of Castellón achieved exceptionally high growth in the month of August, registering a 30% increase in the movement of goods compared to the same period last year. 1,706,970 tons were handled during this month, which is traditionally one of low economic activity.

In the accumulated period from January to August, the total traffic of the port reached 13,448,121 tons, representing a growth of 11.1% compared to the same period last year. These numbers demonstrate a consistent upward trend throughout the year.

The president of the Port Authority of Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez, stated that this behavior demonstrates the operative solvency of the port and its capacity to respond to the demand of the productive sectors of the region. The official thus highlighted the importance of logistics infrastructure for the local economy.
