Everton Cebolinha arrived at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo on Tuesday evening to join Santos. The 30-year-old Brazilian forward, accompanied by his wife and children, is expected to undergo medical tests on Wednesday and finalize the contract details. According to Brazilian press, the agreement will be for one season with the option to extend for two more.
The player is leaving Flamengo, the club he had been playing for since June 2022, to join Neymar at the Paulista side. Santos may also become the new club of Bruma, according to the same source.
Cebolinha played for Portuguese football at Benfica for two seasons (2020/21 and 2021/22), scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists in 95 games. Photographs of the player wearing the new club's jersey are already circulating on social media.
The forward's career was mostly spent in Brazil, at Fortaleza, before heading to Europe and now returning to the South American country to wear Santos' jersey.
