Serbian president dissolves parliament and intends to run for prime minister

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić dissolved parliament on Wednesday and called early legislative elections for October 25. The decision marks a significant moment in Serbian politics, with the head of state taking the initiative to dissolve the assembly and set a new date for the elections.

The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which currently holds power, decided to run in the elections under the name "United Serbia." This decision represents a strategy of mobilization and unification for the party ahead of the upcoming ballot.

Aleksandar Vučić was chosen as the SNS candidate for prime minister in these early elections. This nomination places him in a leadership position to form a new government following the results of the October 25 elections.
