The process to reinforce the water supply system in the municipality of Aljustrel advanced with the publication in the Official Gazette of an administrative easement that allows Águas Públicas do Alentejo (AgdA) to install a new pipeline underground. The easement covers 40 parcels, with 39 in the Union of Parishes of Aljustrel and Rio de Moinhos and one in the parish of Messejana, covering a total area of 14,612.50 square meters. The easement strip is three meters wide and is intended for the passage of the pipeline and future maintenance operations.
The project represents an investment of approximately 1.57 million euros and has a planned execution period of 365 days. The project includes the replacement of pipelines, the rehabilitation of two reservoirs, and the creation of new connections between supply system infrastructures. The objective is to reduce existing vulnerabilities in the network and increase response capacity in situations of breakdown, maintenance, or other occurrences that may affect water supply.
