The Minister of Justice, Rita Alarcão Júdice, appeared before parliament this Wednesday to provide clarification on Operation Pacoba. During her speech, the official guaranteed that "there was no lie whatsoever" in the information transmitted regarding the 144 thousand euros requested by the Judicial Police for the destruction of chemicals seized in that operation.
Rita Alarcão Júdice stated that she had directly requested clarification from the national director of the Judicial Police on the matter in question. The minister thus defended the transparency of the process and the accuracy of the information provided to the authorities.
The case involves an operation called Pacoba, in which chemical materials were seized whose destination and cost of destruction raised questions in parliament. The amount of 144 thousand euros was the subject of debate and required explanations from the Ministry of Justice.
