The discharge of wastewater into a stream tributary of Ribeira de Santo António, which had been reported by DIÁRIO, has already been resolved by the Funchal Municipal Council. The problem was identified after a cleaning team discovered the sewage discharge in the stream, in Santo António.
Following the news article published by the newspaper, the municipal services carried out an inspection that confirmed the existence of the sewage discharge. The cause of the problem was identified as the blockage of a collector.
According to the findings of the municipal inspection, the situation has since been corrected through intervention by the municipal authorities, putting an end to the discharge of wastewater into the watercourse.
