Controversial penalty cost everything for the Barrosões

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes9 September 2026 at 11:59

Montalegre, a team from the Barroso region, suffered a frustrating defeat after a controversial penalty that allowed Braga B to earn a point. The Barrosã team was winning twice during the game, but ended up seeing the advantage slip away due to this controversial refereeing decision.

The players and fans of Montalegre, known as the "Bravos do Barroso", were quite unhappy with the refereeing team's performance, protesting vehemently against the penalty that dictated the final result.

The match took place under adverse weather conditions, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees at the start of the game. The muggy weather also foreshadowed the arrival of thunderstorms, creating a challenging environment for both teams.

Braga's reserve team started the game better, while Montalegre began hesitantly. However, the Barroso side eventually found their rhythm and gained the advantage for most of the challenge, although they were unable to hold on to victory until the end.
