The Social Association Friends of Samora Correia (ASASC) will promote, on September 20th, a solidarity walk aimed at raising funds for the roof restoration works of the Church of Mercy in Samora Correia. The intervention is considered urgent and is estimated at around 40 thousand euros.
The walk is scheduled to start at 08:30 and proposes a route of approximately eight kilometres between the Almansor and Sorraia rivers, with departure and arrival at the ARCAS pavilion. The route, of reduced difficulty, allows participants to connect with the landscape and natural heritage of the area, passing through areas where it is possible to observe Lusitanian horses, rice crops and different species characteristic of the local ecosystem.
Participation has a minimum cost corresponding to five roof tiles, in a symbolic association with the campaign's objective. Each participant receives a t-shirt, a backpack bag and solid and liquid refreshments during the initiative.
