The Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) carried out an operation called "Safe Label" that resulted in the seizure of wine from a producer-wholesaler in the municipality of Gouveia. The operation led to the seizure of a total of 20,226 liters of wine ready to be introduced into the market.
The seized wine included red, white and rosé varieties, all already bottled. ASAE identified that the seizure was motivated by violation of the labeling rules required by law.
The producer-wholesaler in Gouveia was operating in non-compliance with the regulations in force for the correct labeling of wine products intended for consumption. ASAE continues to act in order to guarantee compliance with food safety and economic standards in the sector.
