PSP arrests two men suspected of six robberies in Espinho. One allegedly pretended to be a PJ inspector

SOL8 September 2026 at 17:05

The PSP of Espinho arrested two men, aged 38 and 41, on suspicion of involvement in at least six robberies carried out during the summer. The arrests came as part of an investigation that had been ongoing for some time.

One of the suspects, aged 41, allegedly used a false identity as a member of the Judicial Police to carry out one of the crimes. This strategy was used to deceive the victims and facilitate the robberies.

The two men were captured in Espinho and are now in custody of the authorities. The PSP believes the robberies were connected and that the suspects acted in a coordinated manner.

The authorities continue to investigate other possible crimes committed by the detainees, not ruling out that the number of robberies may be higher than the six already identified.
