Portalegre: oncology patient movement reinforces protest against reduction of Rui Dinis's consultation hours

Rádio Portalegre9 September 2026 at 11:28

The group "Valorizar Quem Cuida", composed of oncology patients, family members and friends, reinforced its protest against the planned reorganization of the Oncology Service at Hospital Dr. José Maria Grande, in Portalegre. The movement expressed its opposition to the announced measure, which aims to change the structure of the oncology service at the health unit. The members of this group publicly expressed their disagreement with the proposed changes, defending the maintenance of existing conditions for patients.

According to the movement, oncologist Rui Dinis will be limited to only one day of consultations per week, which represents a significant reduction in this professional's availability for monitoring oncology patients in the region.
