The European Union confirmed the application of sanctions against Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich. The businessman is banned from entering the territory of the European Union as part of the restrictive measures imposed.

Abramovich is the main shareholder of Evraz, the parent company of one of the largest business groups operating in Russia in the steel and mining sectors.
