Norway bids farewell to Harald V: monarch's funeral takes place this Wednesday

After several public tributes held in the preceding days, Norway held the funeral of King Harald V on Wednesday, the monarch who spent 35 years on the Norwegian throne. The funeral ceremony took place in Oslo.

King Harald V, who died at the age of 87, ruled Norway for over three decades, ascending to the throne in 1991 after the death of his father, Olav V. His long reign was marked by various transformations in the Scandinavian country.

During the days leading up to the funeral, thousands of Norwegians paid tribute to the deceased monarch, demonstrating the high regard the population held for King Harald V throughout his reign.
