Firefighters confirm return of part of subsidy for participation in firefighting device

Jornal Nordeste9 September 2026 at 09:53

The firefighters confirmed the return of part of a subsidy they allegedly received improperly for participation in the firefighting device. The association in question allegedly received more than 121 thousand euros improperly between 2014 and 2017.

The value is related to the firefighting device and was allegedly paid irregularly during that four-year period. The competent authorities identified the irregularity in the payments made to the association.

The confirmation of the return comes as a result of investigations carried out on the payments made within the scope of the firefighting device in mainland Portugal.
