The Valencian Generalitat will open 28 new educational centers during the 2026-2027 school year, although only half will be prepared to receive students from the start of classes. According to data provided by the Department of Education at the start-of-course press conference, 14 of these new infrastructures will open their doors in September 2026, while the other 14 will be incorporated progressively throughout the school year.
In the specific case of Castellón, only 5 of the 11 planned new educational centers will be ready to operate in September. This means that six educational establishments in the province will not be operational at the start of the next school year.
The data was presented by the Department of Education during the usual start-of-course press conference, where the expansion plans for the educational network in the region were detailed. The information reveals that there is a disparity between the number of centers announced and their actual availability at the start of classes.
