China's leading medical expert and epidemiologist, Zhong Nanshan, stated that artificial intelligence cannot replace doctors. The declaration was made today on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the Guangzhou Laboratory of Multi-Omic Integration for Disease Prediction.
Zhong Nanshan justified his position by explaining that patients will always need the clinical judgment of human professionals. The epidemiologist highlighted the importance of direct interaction between doctor and patient as an irreplaceable element in the diagnosis and treatment process.
The event also celebrated 12 years of the Guangzhou Laboratory of Multi-Omic Integration for Disease Prediction, highlighting the role of laboratories in research and innovation in the field of health.
