Salsicharia Estremocense (SEL), a company from Estremoz, saw its ham marketed under the Varanegra brand receive the gold medal at the XV National Ham Competition. The competition took place within the scope of Expomor 2026, in Montemor-o-Novo.
The product was classified as the best ham of this edition of the competition, according to a statement released by the company itself. The competition jury evaluated the competing products on various criteria, including morphology, aroma, and flavor.
This victory represents recognition of the quality of Salsicharia Estremocense's products in the national ham sector. Expomor 2026, where the competition was held, is a fair dedicated to the agroforestry sector that takes place in Montemor-o-Novo.
