OLI, a company based in Aveiro, has been innovating in bathroom design and technology, transforming one of the most discreet objects in modern life into a field of constant innovation. The company is led by António Ricardo Oliveira, who participated in the "Liga dos Inovadores" programme to talk about patents, design and sustainability in the sector.
Among OLI's innovations, the development of the dual flush button stands out, which has become a global standard and allows users to choose between different water volumes. This solution represents a significant advance in terms of water sustainability.
The company is also developing smart toilet seats capable of collecting data about users' health, integrating technology into domestic daily life in a discreet way. This project positions OLI at the intersection of bathroom and digital health.
António Ricardo Oliveira also revealed that the company is exploring the space market as a potential destination for its products, noting that space missions still involve human physiological needs and that bathrooms adapted to these contexts will need to be designed.
