The Tax and Customs Authority sent emails to almost 33,400 landlords with non-renewable lease contracts that have already ended, requesting that they communicate the termination of the contracts. The message informed owners that they have an active lease contract on the Tax Portal, non-renewable, whose term has already ended.
Some owners guarantee that they already communicated the termination of the contracts several years ago, generating confusion among taxpayers. The situation raises questions about the effectiveness of the AT systems in updating lease contract records.
The communication asked landlords to regularize the situation through the Tax Portal, but many taxpayers express frustration at having to repeat a procedure they consider to have already been done previously.
The problem affects a significant number of landlords and suggests a failure in communication or data updating between the tax administration systems and taxpayer records.
