Beijing says 'reunification' is an 'obligatory' issue for Taiwanese

SAPO Notícias9 September 2026 at 06:00

China said "reunification" with Taiwan is an "obligatory" and not "optional" issue for Taiwanese. This statement was made by Beijing today, reinforcing China's position on the territorial question.

Beijing welcomed the start of the debate on the island about the conditions and viability of the "one country, two systems" formula, the model proposed by China to govern Taiwan after reunification.

This formula has already been successfully applied in Hong Kong and Macau, Chinese territories that now have special administration after being returned to China. China believes the same model could work for Taiwan.

The debate on this issue arises at a time of tensions between China and Taiwan, with Beijing insisting that reunification is inevitable and that Taiwanese must accept the conditions imposed by Beijing.

Towards a new architecture, categories and taxonomy of healthcare

This article proposes a new architecture for healthcare, advocating for a paradigm shift in how health systems organize and categorize services. Rather than classifying patients by traditional medical specialties, the article suggests that the central question should be: what specific care does the patient need, what stage of their health journey are they at, what clinical outcomes are sought, and what professional competencies should be mobilized to achieve these goals. This approach centered on patient needs, intended outcomes, and required competencies represents a fundamental reformulation of health systems organization.
