The United States Southern Command reported on Tuesday having destroyed a new Ecuadorian ship in the Pacific Ocean. This action represents the sixth ship destroyed by American forces in a period of less than two weeks.
The boat was allegedly used as a fuel resupply station for drug trafficking operations. This destruction is part of a series of military operations by the USA against drug trafficking networks in the Pacific region.
American authorities have been intensifying naval actions against vessels suspected of being involved in the illicit transport of drugs. The Southern Command is the military force responsible for US operations in Latin America and the Pacific region.
