Fluminense beat Platense-ARG 2-0 at Maracanã and opened a big advantage in the Libertadores quarterfinals. The goals were scored by Nonato and Hulk, both in set pieces coached by coach Marcão. With the result, the tricolor can lose by a one-goal margin in Argentina next Tuesday at 7:30 PM and still qualify for the semifinals.
In the first goal, Fluminense recovered the ball on the left side of the field and, after a quick exchange of passes in the defensive half, Hulk set up Nonato in front of goal. The midfielder waited for the goalkeeper to come out and had the composure to open the scoring. Moments later, it was Hulk's turn to be blessed by a great pass from Paulo Henrique Ganso.
On the right side, the number 7 received Ganso's assist and struck it into the left corner to extend and seal the score at 2-0. On a night of good collective performance, Fluminense dominated the match and built the advantage that gives them tranquility for the second leg in Argentina.
