SATA received eight expressions of interest in the Azores Airlines privatization process, according to information from Açoriano Oriental. The Azorean airline is undergoing privatization, and this milestone represents a significant advance in the procedure.
The eight expressions of interest were received as part of the process aimed at selling the Government of the Azores' stake in SATA. The regional executive, led by José Manuel Bolieiro, is responsible for the decision to proceed with the privatization of the airline.
This is not the first step in the process, as some information has previously been provided about the progress of the procedure. SATA, which operates as Azores Airlines, is the flag carrier of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The privatization process comes in the context of financial difficulties that the airline has faced over recent years, leading the Regional Government to decide on the sale of its stake in the company.
