The honeycomb of Gloria Steinem
The feminist achievements that Gloria Steinem and her generation accomplished in the 60s and 70s in the United States arrived in Portugal only after 1974, with a significant delay. Many of these achievements were imported directly to the country, without a trajectory of their own internal development. The article establishes a comparison between the American feminist movement and its late reception in Portugal, suggesting that the Portuguese context did not allow a parallel evolution of feminism during the period prior to the April Revolution.
