The Parish Council of Cernadelo and Lousada – São Miguel e Santa Margarida issued an alert to the population after receiving information about a woman who is going around the Santa Margarida area to sell socks. The woman claims to have authorization from the Council to carry out this activity, but the council assures that no authorization was granted for the sale.
Given this situation, the Council recommends that residents do not provide personal data, information about family members, addresses or contacts to the woman in question. The alert is especially aimed at elderly people and more vulnerable people, considering the possibility that the approach may be related to a possible scam attempt.
The situation has already been reported to the competent authorities, who will investigate what happened. The council also asks residents not to allow strangers to enter their homes and to contact the authorities in any situation they consider suspicious.
The Council also appeals to the population to share the alert with family members, neighbors and caregivers, in order to prevent possible risk situations.
